Help
What it does right now:
It is really basic at this point... it installs as a WordPress widget, which displays your last know location from Fire Eagle in your side bar. That's it!
NOTE: This has been tested on WordPress 2.7 with PHP Version 5.2.5, it should work on earlier versions of WP that allow widgets, but has not been tested yet (2.5.1 and 2.6 were previously tested, but are no longer in the test que).
NOTE 2: Your WP theme needs to support Widgets for this to work
Installation:
- Click the download button (The widget comes as a zip file).
- Once you have it downloaded and un-zipped, move the fireeagle_4_wp folder to you WordPress plugin folder.
- Then log into your admin screen and navigate to your "Manage Plugins" screen.
- You should see "Fire Eagle for WordPress" in the list of plugins, click activate.
- Once it has been activated click on "Design" then "Widgets" in your top navigation.
- You should see the widget listed on the left, click add.
- After it has been added, be sure to click "Save Changes" before opening the admin screen of the widget.
- Now click "Edit" in the FE header bar.
- Then click on "Click here to authenticate with Fire Eagle!".
- Once you are returned from Fire Eagle, you should be good to go, just load your blog page and you should see the fire eagle location in your side column.
Uninstall:
- Log into your admin screen (dashboard).
- Navigate to "Design" then "Widgets" in your top navigation.
- You should see the "Fire Eagle for WordPress" widget in your right hand widget list, click it's "edit" link in the top right.
- Then click "Remove" at the bottom of the widget followed by clicking "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
- Navigate to your "Manage Plugins" screen.
- Find "Fire Eagle for WordPress" listed in the plugin list, click it's "Deactivate" link, it should now be deactivated!
- If you now want to completely delete the widget, just navigate to your plugins folder and delete "fireeagle_4_wp"
